We must admit that when it comes to football we don’t really much, but even with our limited knowledge we know that David Beckham missing the World Cup is pretty bad news.
Becks looked heartbroken yesterday when he suffered a serious ankle injury, which may end his England career and force him to miss out on his fourth World Cup.
It’s been reported that David will fly to Finland today to be operated on by a renowned doctor in a desperate bid to get fit in time.
However it does look extremely unlikely and last night England manager Fabio Capello said:
“We have to wait for the results of the scan, but it looks like he is out of the world cup.”
What a shame!
And we really can't decide what's more gutting, Becks not playing for England or the fact we wont get to see Posh strutting her stuff in South Africa with the rest of the WAGs, it's a toughie isn't it?!

According to reports John Terry not only had an affair with his team-mate’s ex-girlfriend, but he also got her pregnant.
Sources close to the England captain claim that he began seeing Wayne Bridge’s former lover, French lingerie model Vanessa Perroncel, last September behind his wife’s back, and just two weeks into the affair Vanessa allegedly fell pregnant, but soon after had an abortion.
Afterwards the football star was said to have given Perroncell £20,000 to "cheer herself up".
Yesterday Terry allegedly told his wife Toni that he and Vanessa were just pals, and there had been no affair but a source close to him said:
"The truth is he's gutted his best mate and left his wife devastated while pretending to be a family man. But he's just a low-life cheat."
We suspect that this isn’t the last revelation we’ll be hearing about Terry’s private life…
Cheryl Cole Steps Out With Derek Hough As Chelsea FC Is Implicated In Affair Cover-Up
Amid rumours that her husband Ashley has had a steamy fling with an American political aide, Cheryl Cole stepped out in LA on Friday – where she’s currently working – with hunky dancer Derek Hough
Meanwhile the political aide in question, Ann Corbitt, claims today that she had a night of passion with Ashley last year after the pair met in a club in Seattle.
Furthermore Corbitt also alleges that Chelsea FC knew about her affair with the football star and helped her to cover it up.
In an interview with the News Of The World Newspaper Corbitt says that after her one-night stand with Ashely - who she hadn’t known was married when she slept with him - she was confronted by a journalist who knew about her liaison with the Chelsea star.
In a panicked state Cobitt got in touch with Cole, who in turn advised her to get in contact with Chelsea’s PR man Steve Atkins. During a brief exchange of emails Atkins allegedly advised Ann to hire a lawyer, then threaten the newspaper in question with legal action in order to blow them off the scent.
He also suggested that she should get in contact with London law firm Schillings, who he said were "well-versed in this sort of case". Schillings, by the way, are the firm who recently won a super-injunction for John Terry following his alleged fling with an underwear model.
In her interview with NOTW Ann says she is "horrified" with Chelsea’s involvement in trying to cover up with her affair with Cole, saying:
“The following morning (after their night together) Ashley asked me if I wanted someone from Chelsea to walk me out the back of the hotel.God knows how these players' wives and girlfriends must feel.”
According to pals Cheryl has now - unsurprisingly - asked Ashley to move his stuff out of their home before she gets back from LA. Good riddance we say...
