Finding your niche in school is tough enough for kids to do these days. However, when you are a chubby immigrant boy wearing a turban that your classmates just don’t understand, it can be brutal. You can either rebel, retreat to the books or, if you are Gurbaksh Chahal, you might consider dropping out and starting your own company at the age of 16.
Gurbaksh, who often goes by “G” founded the performance-based Internet advertising company “Click Agents” and sold it to Value Click for $40 million in November 2000, at the age of 18. Few years later, in January 2004, Gurbaksh launched his second company “Blue Lithium”, which under his leadership was named one of the top 100 private companies in United States. He sold that also to Yahoo for $300 million in 2007.
Determined to find out the secret of Gurbaksh’s extreme and early success and future plans, Nirvana Woman Magazine people talked to Gurbaksh, a slender, slightly preppy, and down-to-earth guy with short hair, at a restaurant on Santana Row in San Jose, California.
After replying so many questions Gurbaksh was asked “What’s next for you in life?” For this “G” replied “Whatever I do next is not about money. I am in a place where I can ask myself, what’s my passion? I love the excitement of waking up each day and thinking about what I’d like to do next, how I can merge all of my experiences to do something new. Perhaps next, it will be about merging entertainment with business.”
Gurbaksh stated that he is working with William Morris agency on some reality television concepts and his book “The Dream” describing what it means to take risk and be successful. The book is stated for completion in summer 2008. It will detail G’s story of the successful creation of two Internet-based companies worth more than $340 million, by the age of 25.
“Figure out what your passion is and what you want to do with it, pursue it and be persistent”, this was the advice given by GURBAKSH CHAHAL to others. To know more about Gurbaksh Chahal, visit the site http://www.chahal.com |
